A DRIVER has been fined after failing to see a mother and child on a zebra crossing “until the last minute”.

The driver, who pleaded guilty to driving without due care, narrowly averted a serious collision in Yeovil, police said.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “This driver in Yeovil failed to see a mother and child on the zebra crossing until the last minute, narrowly averting a serious RTC.

“They pleaded guilty to driving without due care and received: 6 points, £520 in fines/costs, and victim surcharge.
