A GARAGE in Glastonbury which was a hotspot for the use of class A drugs has been turned into a "work of art."

Over the weekend, police boarded up the premises before Glastonbury murals stepped up to the task of making it "look incredible."

A Mendip Neighbourhood Policing spokesperson said: "From a garage being used for the use of class A drugs to a work of art...

"This garage in Glastonbury was boarded up by police on Sunday morning, and less than one hour later Glastonbury murals have stepped up and made it look incredible.

"This graffiti was organised as a part of the Glastonbury Mural Trail with the appropriate permissions.

"We have noticed an increase in tags not associated with the trail around the town, if you have any information on who might be involved please let us know by phoning 101, reporting online or speak to one of your local Neighbourhood team when you see them."
