ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984-SECTION 14(1)(a)
THE M5 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 24-25) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (a) has made an Order on the M5 motorway between junctions 24 and 25 in the County of Somerset to enable resurfacing, white lining, loop cutting and bridge joint works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place overnight (8.00pm - 6.00am) on or after 24 April 2017 and be completed by 16 June 2017. The effect of the Order will be to authorise the overnight closure of:
(i) the southbound carriageway of the M5 from Junction 24 to Junction 25;
(ii) the southbound entry slip road at M5 Junction 24.
During the closure traffic will be diverted via the A38 and A358.
The carriageway closure, slip road closure (which will not apply to emergency services and works vehicles), and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works period and will only apply when traffic management measures are in place. The Order will come into force on 22 April 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
