NEWSQUEST Somerset is running a competition in conjunction with South West Solar and Renewable Systems. Terms and conditions apply as below:

 

Terms and conditions of nominating a community project: Prize is to win a Solar Panel System of up to 4KWp PV system comprising of up to 16 BISOL photovoltaic modules (250 Wp) and accompanying BISOL Easy Mount under structure. SMA represents the inverter brand. The prize is to supply and install the photovoltaic energy system (the System) as described is subject to the following;

• The System (as stated) is dependent on roof space availability.

• The winner’s property must pass the minimum *Energy Performance Certifi cate (EPC) requirements and additional costs to pass EPC not be covered.

• The roof must be structurally sound, additional costs to make the roof structurally sound are not covered.

• The appropriate consent and permission (including, if necessary, building permission and building regulations approval) from landlords, local authorities is required before the work can be carried out in compliance with applicable laws.

• All existing energy systems (including gas, oil, water and electricity) will be assessed.

• Any additional work will be discussed before any additional costs are incurred.

• South West Solar & Renewable Systems will visit each project to provide the necessary report to verify the acceptance of the property.

• All nominated projects are subject to acceptance before proceeding into the voting stage.

• All nominated projects will be asked to provide relevant information as requested.

• Any projects unable to provide the necessary requirements will be excluded.

• The winning project, as part of the prize, will allow promotional opportunities to be used as part of the ongoing promotion by South West Solar & Renewable Systems and by entering and accepting the elements of the competition as expressly detailed, give consent for publication and usage of images and information relating to the winning project to be used for promotional and marketing by South West Solar & Renewable Systems.

• Any consequential part of the system that already exists is considered illegal, damaged or unusable, then it will be put right prior to any work being carried out and this would not be covered by the prize. Prize consists only of the elements expressly detailed above. South West Solar & Renewable Systems has the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. By entering the competition, all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions.

• In respect the data capture being requested, South West Solar & Renewable Systems will not pass details onto third parties. Data protection adheres to receiving personal information re entries to verify legal requirements. South West Solar & Renewable Systems may contact you from time to time via email or post with special offers. Sales calls will not be made, nor will details be passed to any other party.

• The promoter’s decision is fi nal and binding. No correspondence will be entered into. Unless otherwise stated the promoter is the South West Solar & Renewable Systems.

• All nominations must be received by 10th May 2013 at midday at the offices of Newsquest South West, 44, St James Street, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 1JR • All enquiries should be directed to South West Solar & Renewable Systems, Customer care service, Unit T, Langlands Business Park, Uffculme, Devon, EX15 3DA or email info@swsolarsystems.co.uk *Energy Performance certificate Terms and conditions relating to the prize: • South West Solar & Renewable Systems will install (the system) to the legal specifications.

The prize value is up to a maximum £8,000.

• A meeting to survey the project will be conducted first before agreeing the programme of work. A schedule outlining the work and the legal requirements will be agreed between both parties. South West Solar & Renewable Systems reserves the right to delay or postpone the schedule if any aspects of the requirements are not fulfilled.

• Advice can be given on general energy requirements but not the capabilities of the current system.

• Any additional work will be discussed before any additional costs are incurred.

• If incorrect measurements or information is provided and this has been relied on in preparing the order of the System, South West Solar & Renewable Systems reserves the right to pass on any additional costs.

• South West Solar & Renewable Systems will provide the necessary information on completion but takes no responsibility for any damage caused because care and maintenance work (as specified) has not been carried out.

• South West Solar & Renewable Systems do not manufacturer the System equipment or components and therefore, cannot guarantee their performance or warranty.

• The principal equipment with the System comes with a manufacturer warranty.

• The warranty covers manufacturing faults, satisfactory quality of equipment within the meaning of Supply of Goods and Services act 1928 and the fitness of the purpose for which the equipment is designed.

• South West Solar & Renewable Systems will provide warranty on all other goods and labour that form part of the System against failure or breakdown for a period of two years from the date of commission.

• The copyright and all produced property rights of whatever nature in designs, artwork, digital images or other material produced as part of the competition and work will remain the property of South West Solar & Renewable Systems.

• The removal of any aspects of the building or existing systems may not be removed intact.

The cost of removal will not be included as part of the prize.

• South West Solar & Renewable Systems reserves the right to ensure that any elements of the building which is potentially classified as unsafe, are submit to the appropriate authorities or to seek any clarification from a third party.

• South West Solar & Renewable Systems do not take any responsibility for any consequently defects that may stop completion of the system.

• If the System arrives before the installation begins, this will be the responsibility of the winner and must be stored in a dry, safe environment.

Any damage before installation would be the responsibility of the winner.

• The promoter’s decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into. Unless otherwise stated the promoter is the South West Solar & Renewable Systems.
