WITH ever increasing energy costs, businesses both large and small should be looking at ways to reduce their energy consumption.

One way is to generate either electricity or heat on your business site. This can then be used by the business rather than drawing energy from the National Grid.

The most common technologies used for microgeneration are micro wind turbines, solar panels or ground source heat pumps.

When installing any of these systems you should ensure that you use a reputable company who can assess your business’s particular requirements.

Microgeneration, in addition to reducing your energy consumption and carbon footprint, may also generate an income for the business as the Government provides financial incentives for small scale renewable electricity and renewable heat.
