SHOPPERS are being urged to donate their out-of-season fashions for a good cause at a south west shopping centre.

From March 30, the Princesshay centre in Exeter will be collecting clothing in support of the Children’s Hospice South West as part of the Spring Spree event.

The centre will then continue the clothing drop with CHSW throughout 2017.

Visitors to Princesshay will be able to drop off their unwanted clothing to be sold in Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) shops, Princesshay’s charity of the year, before hitting the stores during Spring Spree, an exclusive evening of shopping, discounts, live music, catwalk shows and treats on Thursday, March 30, between 6pm and 9pm.

Naomi Dymond, corporate partnerships fundraiser (Little Bridge House) for Children’s Hospice South West, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering up with Princesshay for this special clothes drop event.

"We rely almost entirely on the support of the community and our shops are an important part of our fundraising and spreading awareness of our work.

"We need to raise almost £10million a year to run our three hospices so each and every donation we receive will help to make such a difference to the local life-limited children and their families who we support.”

All donated clothes can be dropped off at Princesshay’s Customer Service Point, they will then be passed onto the Children’s Hospice South West Sidwell Street store, in Exeter.

Children’s Hospice South West helps and supports children with life-limiting conditions.

The charity has three hospices across the South West, including Little Bridge House in Devon, Little Harbour in Cornwall and Charlton Farm, near Bristol.

The centres provide respite care and support for children and their families who have to cope with the most difficult of situations.

Wayne Pearce, Princesshay centre director, said: “Donating unwanted clothes to Children’s Hospice South West is a great way to spring clean your wardrobe and support a fantastic charity.

"We hope that lots of our shoppers join in to gather a big donation haul before enjoying our Spring Spree evening.”

More than 30 of Princesshay’s retailers and restaurants are expected to take part in Spring Spree, the exclusive shopping evening, including Joules, Hollister, Carluccios and Nandos.

As well as the fantastic deals, shoppers will be treated to an array of beauty treatments, live music from Adam Moran, along with Richard James and Matt Carter, trend tips from a professional stylist along with spring styles modelled on the catwalk and seasonal samples from Princesshay restaurants.
