WHEN two members of the Quantock Staghounds, Richard Down and Adrian Pillivant, were found guilty of breaching the Hunting Act a keen supporter of the hunt decided to support an appeal to the High Court.
Mike Rose plans to take on a sponsored 24-hour cycle ride on September 2 to raise money for the Staghounds' appeal.
He will be circumnavigating the Quantock Hills and estimates to cycle between 350-400 miles.
Chairman of the Quantock Staghounds James Hawthorne told the County Gazette: "Mike was so upset to hear about the result of the court case that he is raising money for the appeal.
"People have been very generous because they know it's a test case. It's very important to us that we win."
If you would like to support Mr Rose's bike ride or back the appeal, cheques made payable to QSH Fighting Fund can be sent to James Hawthorne, Pound Farm, Bishops Lydeard, Taunton Somerset TA4 3DN.
