A TOUR of Britain official partner, the gas and electricity company E.ON is demonstrating a bike powered by a combination of physical and natural energy to provide CoolFuel'.

The bike will be demonstrated the Tour of Britain locations to show spectators some of the bike's energy saving features.

Combining energy from the sun, wind and the cyclist's legwork, the bike can power an onboard refrigerator that will dispense ice-cold bottles of water for the rider alongside other energy saving devices.

The bike visited Taunton yesterday (Tuesday) with the second stage of the Tour of Britain' cycle event and will be demonstrated at the last four locations - Wolverhampton, Bradford, Liverpool and Dumfries.

The Retail PR Manager at E.ON UK Nick Sandham said: "The Tour of Britain is a spectacular event, enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people, so we wanted to find a fresh and imaginative way to capture their attention when we talk to them about saving energy.

"Given that this is a cycling event, we think that the bike is a perfect way to demonstrate what a precious resource energy is."

The CoolFuel' bike can generate 126 watts when being pedalled at full speed therefore able to keep drinks cold.
