INTREPID Running Forever member Jason Bowie took part in the Classic Quarter, a 44-mile race.

The relatively new ultra marathon goes along the coastal path from Lizard Point to Land's End.

It takes in one of Britain's most breathtaking stretches of coastline, although it would seem difficult to appreciate the scenery while struggling up huge slopes and gasping for air.

Out of the 56 runners that entered, only 46 managed to complete the event.

Bowie, who was raising money for Guide Dogs for the Blind, finished 23rd in 10hr 28min 10sec.

Running Forever start their beginners' training group in the next month, aiming towards the Taunton 10k in September.
