PROBLEMS with graffiti in Bishops Lydeard are being wiped clean on Thursday as offenders are being put to work to remove it.

Cllr Joanna Lewin-Harris was horrified at the state of the underpass on the A358 at Bishops Lydeard, which links the station and the Greenway Estate.

She said the route is regularly used by village residents and so arranged for the Probation Service to get some offenders to carry out their required unpaid work by cleaning the mess up.

They will be working on the underpass from 10am.

Cllr Harris said: "We are all keen to promote the work done by the Probation service and flag up to residents that their concerns about graffiti are being dealt."
