The Devon County Agricultural Association (DCAA), which stages the Devon County Show, is delighted to announce that HRH The Duchess of Cornwall has accepted a DCAA Honorary Life Vice-Presidency.

John Lee OBE, Chairman of Council of the DCAA, said: “We are thrilled that The Duchess of Cornwall is willing to accept this honorary position. Her Royal Highness has visited the County Show three times and has become a real champion of what we do and a friend to everyone involved.”

HRH The Prince of Wales is the long-standing Patron of the DCAA and last year extended his term until 2018.

The couple are keen supporters of the County Show. The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visited in 2005 and Her Royal Highness was elected President of the DCAA in 2008, when she attended again. The Duchess of Cornwall returned five years later in 2013 when she spent a happy day with her family visiting various features and meeting people involved in the countryside.

Agriculture is at the heart of the County Show, which highlights many aspects of rural life including farming, food and drink, horticulture and countryside skills.

The DCAA has played a leading role in the development of agriculture and the rural economy in Devon since its formation in 1872 and this year it is celebrating 25 years at its permanent showground at Westpoint, Exeter.
