NFU President Meurig Raymond has said he looks forward to working closely with Peter Kendall after the former NFU President was named by Defra as the new chair of AHDB (Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board).

“We welcome Peter Kendall’s appointment as Chair of AHDB and we look forward to working with him in his new role,” said Mr Raymond.

“The NFU and AHDB share common goals on improving food security and increasing farm production. The NFU’s role is to represent and lobby on behalf of our farming and growing members and AHDB offers practical support to its levy payers and we are sure that Peter Kendall will give AHDB strong leadership in order to demonstrate the value the levy boards give to farmers and increase their connection with levy payers.”
