Former NFU county chairman, John Shears, has been charged with producing cannabis.
Mr Shears, who is 79, lives at Lower Nattadon Farm in Chagford, where a police raid took place earlier this year.
A member of the Dartmoor National Park’s planning committee, Mr Shears has been bailed by police. He will appear in court in October.
Another man, Daniel Perryman of Kingsteignton, Devon, has been charged with the same offence and has also been bailed.
Two other men who were arrested have been released without charge.
