Honiton Young Farmers had a successful annual show and sale at Sedgemoor Auction centre on April 18.
The day was very successful with over 30 members taking Dairy, Beef, Sheep and Pigs totally 182 animals across 21 different classes.
On April 15, judges travelled to farms with animals twhich had been shutdown due to T.B to judge the animals. This was a great success as is meant that every member, whether their beef or dairy animal was at market or not, had a fair chance of getting placed and winning prizes. This was proved by Champion Beef and Champion Dairy both being T.B restricted animals judged on farm.
Champion In-milk heifer was won by Rebecca Bartlett with Suttonlucy Stanleycup Cathie
Champion British Blue steer was won by Lauren Reed
Champion Suckler bred bullock was won by Lin Pidsley
Champion Pen of ewes was won by Katie Maynard
Champion pen of pigs was won by Sarah Pidsley
Honiton YFC also managed to raise £222 for their charity by doing a 'Guess the weight of the bullock competiton' on the show day and a raffle at the show meal. Thank you to all judges, stewards, advisory parents and helpers for all their hard work, and to all members for making the show a great success!!
