NFU president Meurig Raymond is being challenged by his deputy who has confirmed she will stand for election as president in February.

The NFU deputy president, Minette Batters, has confirmed she will run against Mr Raymond after receiving nominations for the role. However, if she is unsuccessful, she will stand again for the deputy role which she has held for the last two years.

NFU Vice president, Guy Smith, has said he will not be challenging Mr Raymond but will stand for the role of vice-president and, if the position became vacant, the post of deputy.

Meurig Raymond has already confirmed that he will be seeking re-election for a second term.
