South West regional insurance company Cornish Mutual has announced three new health and safety workshops in April following a huge turnout last year which saw over 230 farmers attend similar events.

The free workshops will take place at three venues across the Westcountry and will provide a unique opportunity for those in the industry to gain a wealth of up-to-date information, meet the experts and share experiences with fellow members of the farming community.

Delivered by rural insurer Cornish Mutual, the workshops will be held at Churston New Farm, Devon; Griggs Country Store, Cornwall and Sedgemoor Livestock Market in Bridgwater.

Attendees will experience practical demonstrations identifying on-farm risks and how to manage them. There will also be information shared to make sure guests are kept up-to-speed with changes in the law, new regulations and best practice.

The dates of the events are:

• 21 April, Churston New Farm

• 26 April, Griggs Country Store

• 28 April, Sedgemoor

Alan Goddard, Managing Director of Cornish Mutual, said: “After last year’s workshops the feedback from farmers was very clear, there is a huge demand within the agricultural community to meet and take part in practical demonstrations which will help the community keep up to speed with health and safety issues.

“I would encourage people interested in taking part to sign up early as the last series we ran were fully booked within a few weeks. It’s a great day with a lot of valuable information shared.”
