The latest figures are in from the Holsworthy market in Liskeard, with the top price of £1,000 going for a South Devon x heifer sold by Mr J Stephens from St Winnow Barton.

Mr Stephens also sold another South Devon x for £925 with another making £895.

Leading the steer trade was a 20 month old Simmental x steer selling for £945 on behalf of Messrs SE & JM Eastley from Looe, who also went on to sell a pair of 19-month-old Aberdeen Angus x steers for £925, alongside a 20-month-old Limousin x steer for £920.

Miss L Penhorwood from Liskeard sold a 20-month-old British Blue x steer for £900 and a same aged British Blue x heifer for £812.

A run of cattle for Messrs GS & KM Trevail from Bugle saw a 21-month-old Charolais x steer reach £895 with another pair at £860.

Mr RA Pollard from Redmoor sold a pen of three Aberdeen Angus x steers at 19-months-old for £880 and a British Blue x steer at 19-months-old achieved £815.

A run of eleven MRI x steers at 12-months-old sold well to make £595 and Simmental x steers at 16-months-old made £810 for Mr G Bridgman from Pillaton.

162 Fat hoggs saw a faster trade for all weights with an overall average of 172.8p/kg.

Several pens around 180p/kg and to a top of 181p/kg for two vendors Messrs MD & CM Hall, Bruckey Cottage 38.4 kilos, totalling £69.50, and Messrs A & J Richards, Lowertown 45 kilos, totalling £81.50.

Top per head was £83.50 for a pen of heavies from Mrs SA Gregory, Looedown Farm.

44 Draft ewes saw a strong trade with an overall average of £63.09, the top being £74 from Chris Hutchings, Netherton, Couches Mill.
