Five golden tickets offering money-can’t-buy prizes are to be found in Ford Farm coastal cheddars at Dorset County Show.

The cheesemakers has announced it is to make five golden tickets available to five lucky show visitors, giving the owner exclusive access to the Ford Farm Dairy which is hidden away in the rolling West Dorset countryside. During a tour, they will be able to uncover the marvellous mysteries behind Ford Farm’s cheese-making.

Those who visit the Ford Farm stand at the Dorset County Show over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday September 2 and 3, and purchase a 360g coastal cheddar, will be in with a chance of finding one of these five tickets.

Martin Crabb, head cheesemaker at Ford Farm who conceived the idea of the promotion based on his love of the Roald Dahl story, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, will welcome the winners to the farm on Monday, October 23.

Martin said: “Those who find the golden ticket will be invited for a money-can’t-buy experience at Ford Farm. When they arrive, I will shake each guest firmly by the hand, Willy Wonka style and then take them on a tour of the factory as my personal guest. The tour will be full to the brim with marvellous discoveries about cheesemaking and deliciously cheesy eatables will be made available along the way. Tremendous things will be in store for the winners including, as they depart, a luxury cheese hamper, worth £100.”

“The day of the tour will be the 23rd day of October. On this day alone the winners will need to arrive at the dairy at 9am and will be permitted to bring one member of their family to accompany them. And don’t forget be certain to bring your golden ticket, otherwise you will not be admitted.”
