A goat stranded on a ledge above Llandudno in North Wales was rescued by abseiling RSPCA officers on August 15.
The Great Orme goat had been on the ledge above Marine Drive for over a week. When it became apparent that he had eaten all the available food the RSPCA carried out a dramatic rope rescue.
Officers abseiled from approximately 30 metres above the goat. He was caught by the horns by RSPCA inspector Jenny Anderton, who held him while RSPCA inspector Andrew Broadbent bagged up the animal before abseiling a further 20 metres to release the goat on safe land.
Mike Pugh, RSPCA inspector said: “This was a complex rescue, as it was imperative to ensure the goat was calm enough so he didn’t panic and dangerously jump off the towering ledge.
RSPCA officers Andrew Broadbent, Jenny Anderton, Mike Pugh, Nayman Dunderdale, Ann Lloyd Williams and Vicki Taylor completed the rescue.
