A tractor and a spreader trailer caught fire in Somerset yesterday morning.

The fire broke out between Castle Lane and Wellsway, Heath House, Wedmore.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service sent fire appliances from Cheddar, Glastonbury and Street at 11.18am.

On arrival at the scene fire, crews confirmed that the tractor was well alight and had spread to the attached spreader trailer.

They extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus wearers, a compressed air foam jet and a thermal image camera to check for hotspots.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
