Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a reduced entry of 608 strong stores, although 30% up on the corresponding week last year and part of 824 with the stirks and sucklers, sold to a brighter trade, when more buyers were in attendance due to the temporary cessation of harvest during the rainy weekend. Best types exceptionally well sought. More faces for dairy breeds and some quality young cattle were probably the highlights of the day.

Stock Rams (27): A similar entry met a more selective trade. £410 (x4) for Charolais shearlings from Mr SJ Parish followed by £300 (x2) for Charolais lambs from Mr J Harding. Older rams to £170 from Mr LAJ England.

Goats (12): 12 goat kids sold to £77 and £64 from Mr M Beach to average £51.58.

Fat Pigs (103): Numbers of fat pigs are very short nationally and trade for all is very good.

The best sold to £118 twice for both Neil Richards and Mrs L Rowe. Other heavies to £110 from Mr K Richards and £109 from Mr RD Lowe of Cardiff. Best mediums to £99 x2 from Messrs AP & PC Rose. Best also from Mr M Arscott, Mr MJ Stevens and Mr ER Stamp.
