WITH the school summer holidays in full swing the last thing on most people’s minds is Christmas, but a canny buyer at Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s August sale did not think it was too early to think festively.
The delighted phone bidder secured two sets of electric Christmas lights with a bid of £140. The Pifco “Ring-o-Roses” and the Kingston “Crystalites” were each boxed. Also included in the lot was a stuffed soft toy dog.
The bidder remembered the “Crystalites” from her childhood and was extremely pleased to secure the lot which reminded her of her father.
Unfortunately the set from her childhood was broken and incomplete so she was thrilled to find a replacement set.
Stuart Triggol, Saleroom manager, at The Octagon Salerooms, East Reach, Taunton, who successfully handled the phone bid was the first to wish the successful bidder a Happy Christmas!
