COLLECTIBLES in all their guises will be on show at Greenslade Taylor Hunt this Saturday (November 26) as the final quarterly sale of the year and the monthly antiques auction go on view at The Octagon Salerooms, East Reach, Taunton.

Among a good selection of coins is this appealing example from 1703. This Queen Anne Crown has a pre-sale guide of £300-£400.

A Second World War British Royal Air Force B-type leather flying helmet by Reliance Manufacturing Co. of London, is another interesting piece. The label is dated 1939-40, of brown leather, with a chamois lining and zipped pattern, ear pieces, size 6 1/2 - 6 3/4.

A Spitfire pilot of 609 Squadron is believed to have worn the helmet. The airmen saw combat at Dunkirk and during the Battle of Britain, when the squadron was actively engaged in defending South West ports, flying out of Middle Wallop and Warmwell. It has a pre-sale estimate of £100-£150.

The same pre-auction guide applies to a Dunlop double-sided enamel sign' Dunlop Stock', with black lettering against a red, yellow and black background, complete with original metal wall bracket.

All the lots will be on view from 9am-12.30pm on Saturday and again on Tuesday and Wednesday between 9am and 5pm. Both sales commence at 10am. For more information please contact the saleroom on 01823 332525.
