More than 600 lots of which nearly half are devoted to 20th Century design will go under the hammer at Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s Taunton saleroom next Thursday, January 5.

The sale will be on view this Saturday, December 31, at The Octagon Salerooms, East Reach, Taunton, from 9am-12.30pm. There are more opportunities to view the lots on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 3 and 4, from 9am-5pm.

The sale gets underway at 10am on Thursday, January 5, and there will be a chance to view on the morning of the sale from 8.30am.

Highlights include a limited edition bronze by the artist Margaret Lovell. Entitled 'Juliet Head' the bronze is numbered seven of nine. It is accompanied by an original certificate of authenticity, dated 2nd April 1969, signed by the artist; and a quantity of other ephemera. It has a pre-sale estimate of £400-£600.

Designer chairs, oil on board, signed lower right by the artist Irene Welburn graces the front of the catalogue, which can be downloaded from the website www.gth.net/antiques or picked up from the saleroom.

A limited edition signed lithograph by the artist Graham Sutherland entitled 'Insect’ is a rather striking piece. It is numbered 18 of 65. It is one of three pieces by the artist in the sale.
