Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a very short entry of cull cattle after the Easter break met a cracking trade. Generally well fleshed types on offer. Sucklers in short supply. Excellent dairy bred cull trade when Friesians averaged 119.2ppk and Holsteins 116.7ppk.

Top was 153.5ppk for a strong (795kg) Blue cow from Mr DH & Mrs SM Churchill, South Chard. A further good Blue at 137.5ppk from Mr PA Strawbridge, Honiton.

Native cows rose to 126.5ppk for a Hereford from Messrs KH Hodges & Sons, Whitestaunton.

Sucklers sold to £1220.33 for the Blue from Mr DH & Mrs SM Churchill. Native cows to £1034.52 for a South Devon (888kg) from Mr PJL Rose, Cutsey.

Dairy breeds in excellent demand to 134.5ppk for a young (50m) Holstein (737kg) from Mr D & Mrs I Dyer, Yarcombe, who sold other well fleshed Holsteins at 131.5ppk (77m, 830kg) and 127.5ppk (62m, 830kg). Friesians at 132.5ppk (50m, 717kg) from Mr P Kostyla, Clevedon; 132.5ppk twice again from Messrs Holt Farms Ltd,115m & 696kg and 102m & 656kg who sold others at 125.5ppk and 124.5ppk.
