Busk Calves & Stirks (282): Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a larger than expected bank holiday entry was met by a good trade for all on offer, especially quality which was in short supply. (Please pre-book your entries to help us help you).

Top price was for a superb 14m Limousin heifer from Mr HJ Dart of South Molton which made £1010, well done.

Few top quality steers forward, the best to £865 from Messrs A & V Strawbridge for a 10m Angus steer. Other steers to £830 for a 15m Limousin from Mrs K Lock. Charolais to £805 (10m) from Messrs WJ & KL Dart, when others sold to £805.

A superb show of heifers from Mr J Plowright sold to £970 Limousin (13m) others £950, £875 and £800 for a Charolais (13m). Other heifers to £720 from Mr GRA Miller who also made £705 (7m). A forward entry of Friesians ranged between £300-£450.

Another huge entry of 1486 grazing ewes and rams sold to an overall more difficult trade for all forward. The best ewes sold to £124 from Messrs RM & FR Thorne. Breeding Ewes (268): A reasonable entry of 268 breeding ewes sold to a difficult trade, when the fine weather and bank holiday traffic meant the crowd of bidders was much depleted. Poll Dorset shearlings to £122 from Messrs TG & MG Wooff and Messrs RG & E Powell, who sold older ewes at £120. Leading the Suffolk Mules was Messrs EJ & RJ Mills at £122. Others of the same breed to £120 from Mr J White. Suffolk x Scotch Half breds to £118 from Mr MR Scott. Overall average £92.96.

Stock Rams (42): Smaller entry of 42 forward sold to a difficult trade. Top price went to Mr LAG England who sold shearling Suffolk rams to £275. Other 2T Suffolks sold to £250 from Messrs NF Clothier & Sons Ltd. Charollais 2T and 4T sold to £190. Overall average £142.
