Store Lambs (2704): A larger entry of 2704 store lambs sold to a hesitant trade at the start of the sale, however, as the sale progressed the trade improved to levels at least on a par with last week. The best sold to £84.50 from Mr D Tucker. Others £83.50 (x2) and £77 from Mr P Webber; £79.50 from Mr CM Finlay; £76 from Dallyns Dairy Ltd; £75.50 from Mr RC Lewis; £74.50 and Mr AJ Hunt and £72.50 from Mr DM Ruell. Shearling sold to £130 for Charollais from Mr PJ Smith; £130 (x2) for Suffolk cross Mule from Messrs PD & SA Godfrey; £128 for Suffolk x Mule from Mr J White and £128 for North Country Mules from Mr P Athay. Overall average £118.07.

Stock Rams (163): A total of 163 forward for our catalogued sale of MV and non MV accredited rams sold to a good trade overall. Top price went to Mr TG Ball who sold a cracking pedigree 2T Texel for £555. Charollais 2T forward from Mr T Newth reached £500 when another sold to £460. Messrs R & MF Rottenbury & Son also had a good run with 2T Texels to £435 and two to £390. More rams next week.

Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a reduced entry met a good trade throughout. In particular the small entry of weaners reduced the average numbers.

Cull Sows and Boars (8): Small entry when the best sold to £155 from Mr R Foster and £130 from Mr N Fulls. Boars to £100 from Mr JP Burnett. More required to satisfy demand.

Weaners (15): A much reduced entry sold to a very fast trade giving an overall average of £42.80. Best topped at £50 from Mr E Lye. More required to satisfy demand.

Stores (58): First class trade sold to a top of £144 for quality pigs from Mr JP Burnett. Others to £140 from Mr J Baker and £137 from Mr KH Tucker. Coloured pigs to £128 from Mr J Baker and a good run of 5 pens from Mr LE Miller & Son sold to £122.
