THE Charterhouse auction of vintage, classic and modern superbikes on Sunday, February 4 has pretty much something for every bike enthusiast when nearly 80 motorcycles will be going under the hammer.
“We have been working hard scouring the country advising clients with their motorcycles hidden away or stored in their barns, garages and even in their living rooms!” said Matthew Whitney. “Entries have come from Wales, Lincolnshire, all the counties across the West Country and motorcycles from a client in France who had them delivered to our store!”
Motorcycles in the Charterhouse auction date from 1930 with a Triumph CSD through to 2014 Harley Davidson Dyna Switchback sidecar combination.
• 2014 Harley Davidson Dyna Switchback Sidecar combination £12,000-£14,000
Star of the show is a 1940 Indian Chief. An American motorcycle it was imported into the UK in 1945, possibly by an American GI at the end of World War II. Now beautifully restored, this rare 1200cc American classic is estimated at £28,000-32,000*.
