SOUTH-WEST training provider Acacia Training and Development is celebrating after achieving its second quality accreditation in two months.

The company has been formally 'Recognised' by the National Skills Academy for Care, and joins 12 other providers in the hall of fame on the Academy's website.

To be 'Recognised' is the first step towards achieving the Academy's 'Excellence' standard, and Acacia Training and Development had to fulfil a number of criteria including an OFSTED Grade 2 and Investors In People accreditation.

Acacia Training and Development is the only provider in the region to have been recognised. Last month it was successfully reaccredited with the Matrix Quality Standard, which it first obtained in 2007. Hazel Lessiter, assistant director, said: "We are delighted to have been 'Recognised'. This is a reflection of Acacia Training and Development's high standards, and is a credit to our staff. Each of the three training centres will display the certificate proudly."

Acacia Training and Development is part of the Somerset Care Group, which is one of the largest not-for-profit care companies in the South of England.

Acacia Training and Development is one of the largest private training providers offering a wide range of Government-funded Work Based Learning programmes in the South-West, including apprenticeships in a range of sectors including hairdressing, payroll, business admin, accounting, leadership and management, customer service, health and social care, dental nursing and childcare.

Acacia Training and Development also offers a wide range of short courses at its own training centre or in the workplace where appropriate. For further information, click on the Related Link below.
