SHE’S been honoured with the title of poster girl for mental illness, once crazy, now less so, she gives a tour of the mind – how to use it, not lose it.

Ruby Wax is a popular US born comedy-actor-writer of books and TV shows, including script editor of ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ , and in more recent years, a mental health campaigner.

Following on from the sell-out success of her one woman shows, Ruby Wax returns once more to the stage with Frazzled which calls in at the Octogan Theatre in Yeovil on February 10.

Ruby says: “So far this year I’ve been working on the return of my show ‘Frazzled’ following the publication of my book, A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled in paperback.

“I’ll present a fantastically entertaining show that will remain conversational, as well as being funny and insightful. This is your passport to saner living. I might not be sane myself, but I do a pretty good imitation.”

Arriving in Britain from the United States in 1977, Ruby began her acting career with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

She went on to write and perform in her own hugely popular television programmes.

Since then she has campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness about mental health issues, including speaking at Downing Street to raise money for neuroscience research.

In 2013, she obtained a Masters Degree in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy from Oxford University to increase her understanding of the brain.

She was awarded an OBE for her services to mental health in the Honorary British Awards to Foreign Nationals in 2015.
