TAUNTON Amateur Operatic Society created a brew ha ha at the Brewhouse with their musical version of 9 to 5.
This production bristled with energetic enthusiasm wrapped up in energy and delight.
This sparkling performance was full of vim and vigour with pizzazz and fizz.
The fizz was provided by the five main leads, Alison Jenkinson as Violet Newstead; Silvey Webber as Doralee Rhodes; Clare Brimble as Judy Bernly; David Duthie as Franklin Hart and Kate Gamblin as Roz Keith.
The action sped along as each number and set changes were effortlessly achieved by the ensemble who proved themselves by their acting as well as they stage moving.
It was great to see and hear a live band playing the music which went with the show, a nice touch.
Perhaphs the most unexpected inclusion was a hologram speaking Dolly Parton who was with us at the start of the play and at the end.
9 to 5 The Musical was carried off with aplomb and panache by a cast who were at the top of their game.
It was a huge home run hit. It was appreciated by the audience who at the end were on their feet hollering for more.
9 to 5 the musical is at the Brewhouse Theatre until April 29.
