TOP Lamas, maps a lot, moat pals, laps moat are all anagrams on the label of a tin called Spamalot.

Stand back before you turn the key on this tin of Monty Python Flying Circus meat as it will bubble and froth over with the vim and vigour of excitement and delight.

You see life is a cabaret old chum, life is a cabaret and one which thanks to one of the messages in Spamalot you have to 'always look on the bright side of life'.

Monty Python's Spamalot has been given life by The SPACE and a number of its talented students.

Somerset County Gazette:

SPACE provides a 21st century performing arts complex in Taunton for post 16 students to study all aspects of Performing Arts.

They have helped to put on some medieval mayhem, a mystery wrapped up in an Arthurian quest and what can easily be called ' a sing- along- a- Monty Python'.

As soon as the overture starts everything is up and running in Spamalot.

There is a continuous rhythm of sketch, song, sketch song and so on and then topped with even more songs.

This is a non stop express train of a musical which its cast seems to enjoy as much as the audience who are watching.

Somerset County Gazette:

It is interesting to note some of the speeches which you might recall from Monty Python and The Holy Grail are divided up in Spamalot so each member of the cast gets involved, gets to be a speaking part of the show.

A number of the cast do as they say 'double up' or even 'treble up' in performing a number of roles in the show.

Somerset County Gazette:

Those who are there to entertain you include Bill Hemmings (King Arthur); Bradley Barlow (Patsy); Nicholas Baynton (Sir Galahad); Adam Reid (Sir Lancelot); Kieren Curran ( Sir Robin); Anthony Bryer (Sir Bedevere); Nick MacCormack (Tim the Enchanter); Ashleigh Payne (Prince Herbert); Connor Scanlon (Dennis' Mother); Casey Thompson ( The Black Knight); Ryan Walker (Herbert's father); Simon Wheeler (Head of the knight of NI); David Anca (Brother Maynard); Cathlin Bottomley (Concord); Elishia Hooper (Not dead Fred); Elena Morgan (The lady of the Lake); Jazz Stanfield (historian) and India Davies, Olivia Deverill, Lucy Earthy, Anna Griffiths, Sophie Haigh, Holly Watts and Hayley Worton (all Laker Girls).

Somerset County Gazette:

There are some stand out performers amongst this list.

Some are standing simply because they need to be solid as a rock as they hold the story together but they are only as strong as each other members of the cast.

Bill Hemmings is regally cast as King Arthur as he brings the right amount of kingliness and confusion to this role.

Elena Morgan is a singing sensation as the Lady of the Lake who gives voice to her singing and comedic skills.

My advice is to catch this Top Lamas before it ends on Saturday.
