ALL roads for art lovers will lead to Wiveliscombe and the surrounding villages.

This is due to the fact the 10 Parishes Festival will burst into live from September 9 -17.

There will be a wide range of artists and exhibitions plus performers ready to take to the stage for this popular event.

Taunton Thespians return with a sample of Shakespearean pieces presented in a rehearsed reading at Cotleigh Brewery on the first day of the festival.

As well as all this a new event will be taking place a novel Photomarathon This will comprise part of next month’s 10 Parishes Festival which takes place in and around Wiveliscombe. Anyone with an interest in photography is being encouraged to take part.

A Photomarathon is a funny, exciting and creative photography competition with a twist, a bit of a challenge: participants have to take eight photos of eight topics in the correct order over an eight-hour period.

The Photomarathon format has had tremendous response and engagement in other parts of the country with the sense of creativity and eye for a good photo bringing interesting results and communities together.

After the Photomarathon, all the images are collated and printed, before a panel of judges meet to decide the winners.

All the photos then go on show in a free public exhibition.

The Photomarathon will take place on Sunday, September 10, the day of the street market and carnival procession.

HQ for Photomarathon participants will be The Wiveliscombe House (at the Square) The Exhibition will take place on September 16-17 at the Community Centre (West Street).

Cost of entry: £5 per adult and £2 for under 14.
