FRENCH novelist Anaïs Nin once said: “The possession of knowledge does not kill the sense of wonder and mystery. There is always more mystery.”

In the case of this article she could have been talking about Luke Jermay and his new show Sixth Sense in which he aims to give the audience ‘to experience an amazing mystery of not knowing which they would not get at any other kind of entertainment.

This connection of wonder and magic is something which Luke wants to share with the audience in which he tells them their past, present and future.

For those who do not know Luke Jermay is a mind reader.

He doesn’t use mind games or psychological tricks; he is not a trickster, there are no smoke and mirrors. He can simply read your mind.

Speaking about what he does, Luke said: “I grew up in a family which believed in all things psychic such as tarot cards.

Somerset County Gazette:

"At first I thought it was a load of non-sense and didn’t believe in any of it.

"When I was in my 20s I revisited it and looked at it with an open mind. My show is an evening of mystery and it is a case of genuinely not knowing.

I am trying to convince anyone and I am not preaching to them.

I want them to think how or why did that happen.

"Sometimes when people do not know what will happen then there is a mystery of uncertainty.”

Luke does make predictions of what he believes will happen and at the moment he has a success rate of 65 per cent.

He said he tweets out his predictions and does not remove those which are wrong or wide of the mark.

Somerset County Gazette:

Explaining how he goes through this process of coming up with his predictions, Luke said: “I place myself in a self hypnotic process or meditation and then project my imagination into the future.

"I close my eyes or even blindfold them and encourage my imagination to become active and interoperate what I see.”
