Taunton’s Farmers’ Market

THE Vale is a genuine Farmer and Producers co-operative which has grown from strength to strength since its launch in 1999. We are fully certified by FARMA – the National Farmers’ Retail & Markets Association, so you can be confident you are really buying local produce.

It all takes place in Taunton High Street, every Thursday from 9am until 3pm, year round.

- Trish Morrissey: a certain slant of light at Hestercombe Gallery BASED at Hestercombe Gallery, 11am - 4pm. It runs until February 25.

Open every day Photographer Trish Morrissey brings two brand new bodies of work to the Hestercombe Gallery, inspired by the last female occupants of Hestercombe House, Miss Warre (1790-1872) and Mrs Portman (1854-1951) who both independently ran the Hestercombe estate.

Morrissey has created the work, that includes stills and film, through a residency at Hestercombe – immersing herself in the individual’s lives through archive material such as photographs, drawings, and letters.

Sunday, January 13

- Wayfarers - Aladdin THE Award Winning Wayfarers Pantomime Society return to the Brewhouse with a classic panto for 2018, Aladdin.

The show is bursting with laughter, song and dance. The panto-famous Widow Twankey leads the laughs and is less than ably assisted by her son, Wishee Washee.

Not to be outdone in the laughter stakes are local policemen Yu-Dun- Wong and Hu-Dun-Pong.

As the story unfolds, will Aladdin get the better of the evil Abanazar?

Will he get the hand of the beautiful Princess Mandarin? Or will her father, the Emperor, have something to say about this?

Looking after good and Aladdin is the Spirit of the Ring, while the Genie of the Lamp is all powerful and so cool with it.

There are plenty of songs and high energy dance routines, interspersed with copious amounts of humour.

Combine this with a love story, great characters and a wish or three, then you’ll believe magic carpets really do fly.

The show ends today.

Tickets £11.

Buy online at thebrewhouse.net or call the box office on 01823 283244.
