This week's Tracks of my life is with Nikki Mumby from Taunton Amateur Operatic Society.

TRACK 1: The Ugly Bug Ball’ which is the first record (45) I ever bought at the end of the 1960s when I was around 5 years old.

It reminds me of the happy childhood I was fortunate to have.

TRACK 2: ‘We’re a Couple of Swells’ from the musical Easter Parade.

My mum was a dance teacher and always encouraged me to dance. We used to dance together to this number whenever we were involved in talent or variety shows. The song reminds me of my mum who I lost in very tragic circumstances in 2016.

TRACK 3: ‘Always’ by Atlantic Star is a beautiful song.

My husband of 30 years, Chris bought the disc for me (45) on the eve of our wedding and brought it to me to my parents’ house where I was staying prior to our Big Day.

We played it last September at our 30th Wedding Anniversary party we so enjoyed at the Somerset Cricket Ground with many of our friends and family.

Chris you have ‘Always’ been there for me and our four boys. Thank you.

TRACK 4: ‘Fly’ by Celine Dionne.

This was written by Celine following the loss of her daughter.

Chris and I lost our baby, Lucy in 1996 and we played this beautiful track at her funeral.

When I hear this song it transports me back to 5th August 1996 when I held her in my arms. It also makes me realise how far I have come in my recovery following that devastating day.

TRACK 5: ‘Better When I’m Dancing!’ by Meghan Trainor.

I teach dance, Zumba Gold and FL Exercise in Taunton and absolutely love this track. I have a very exuberant and happy dance routine which I soooo enjoy doing with my Class participants. Music and dance are such great therapy and can transport you away from the sadnesses of life to a happier place.

‘Better When I’m Dancing’ definitely sums me up. “Keep Dancing!”
