WEST COUNTRY gypsy folk band 3 Daft Monkeys will be at the Louisiana in Bristol on Sunday (November 13) as part of a UK tour just announced.

They have also recorded and released a video for album favourite 'Days Of The Dance' and can also be seen at the Wharf in Tavistock on the 20th.

3 Daft Monkeys are a world music-influenced acoustic band from Cornwall, and the instrumentation consists of vocals, fiddle, twelve-string guitar, bass guitar and foot drum. The band's musical influences include Celtic, Balkan, Romani, Latino, electronic dance, reggae, dub, punk rock, and traditional.

‘Days of the Dance’ has been remixed and re-recorded from the original version which is on the band’s fourth studio album ‘The Antiquated & The Arcane’.

The new single has been mixed by Jim Lowe (Stereophonics, The Noisettes, Amy Macdonald, Glen Matlock) and was re-recorded with the band’s new four-piece line-up of fiddle (Athene), 12-string guitar & vocals (Tim), bass guitar (Lukas) and percussion (Richie) adding a fuller and richer sound. ‘Days of the Dance’ tells the strange and alluring tale of a dancing plague that occurred in Strasbourg in 1518.

3 Daft Monkeys weave world music influences around classic folk melodies. The band deserve immense credit for their unique style and their DIY approach to the music industry which has seen them sell thousands of copies of each of their previous three albums on their own label.

After a packed summer of appearances at festivals including Towersey, Larmer Tree, Belladrum, Ely Folk Festival and Boomtown Fair, the band have announced an 11 date tour of the UK for November: Wed 9 LONDON Putney Half Moon Thu 10 OXFORD Jericho Fri 11 PORTSMOUTH The Cellars Sat 12 TUNBRIDGE WELLS Forum Sun 13 BRISTOL Louisiana Tues 15 STRATFORD Cox's Yard Wed 16 NOTTINGHAM Bodega Thu 17 SHEFFIELD The Greystones Fri 18 HEBDEN BRIDGE Trades Club Sat 19 WORCESTER Marrs Bar Sun 20 TAVISTOCK Wharf.
