ROMANTIC comedy meets grizzly horror at Taunton's Odeon Cinema tomorrow (Friday).

Wedding Daze, follows Anderson (Jason Biggs) who after losing the woman of his dreams is convinced he will never fall in love again.

At the urging of his best friend, he spontaneously proposes to a dissatisfied waitress named Katie (Isla Fisher) and an innocent dare evolves into the kind of love that both have been looking for all along.

At the other end of the film spectrum The Hitcher, a remake of the cult horror film starring Rutger Hauer, sees a couple driving across the desert before stopping to pick up a hitchhiker - who just happens to be a murderous psychopath played by Sean Bean.

While the couple Jim (Zachary Knighton) and Grace (Sophia Bush) quickly ditch their dodgy travel companion he decides to pursue then along the dusty back roads and engage in a sinister game of cat-and-mouse.

BLOB: The Odeon's Director's Chair showing on Tuesday, June 5 presents the 2006 film Letters From Iwo Jima.

Directed by Clint Eastwood the film follows the American invasion of Japan.

The island of Iwo Jima stands between the American military force and the home islands of Japan and the Imperial Japanese Army is desperate to prevent it from falling into American hands.

In the lower echelons, a young soldier, Saigo, a poor baker in civilian life, strives with his friends to survive the harsh regime of the Japanese army itself and when the invasion begins, strength, honour, courage, and horrors beyond imagination are all revealed.

This is the sister film to Eastwood's earlier World War Two feature, Flags of Our Fathers.
