PJ Harvey is to perform at the Glastonbury Festival, organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed.

The acclaimed songwriter will return to the event, held at Worthy Farm, Pilton between June 22 and 26, for the first time since 2004.

Emily Eavis told BBC Radio 6 Music she was delighted she was returning.

"It's been a long time," she said.

"She's a local girl and is amazing, so we're really, really excited about that."

Meanwhile, she also confirmed the John Peel Stage would enjoy a new spot on the festival site, and that a David Bowie tribute was planned, featuring some artists "you wouldn't necessarily think of".

Earlier this week, stadium rockers Coldplay were confirmed as headliners for the Pyramid Stage on the closing night fo the festival.

Jeff Lynne's ELO have also been confirmed for the Sunday afternoon 'legends' slot.
