GLASTONBURY organiser Michael Eavis has hailed the 2009 event as 'the best ever'.
Eavis was speaking at a press conference before acts took to the stage for the final day's entertainment today.
And he added that the controversial choice of Jay Z at last year's event had helped bring young fans back to the festival.
Eavis said: "We had Neil Young performing and I have been waiting 39 years for that.
"And with areas like Shangri-La and Trash City I think this has been the best festival.
"There is no way that we can top this year."
Eavis also added that he would pay a £3,000 fine himself, after Bruce Springsteen went nine minutes over the main stage curfew on Saturday night.
