YOU wait for one top opera star to come to Ilminster then two come along at once.

Soprano, Roma Loukes and tenor Mikael Onelius will perform an exciting programme of songs from opera and shows at the Minster Church, Ilminster.

Roma trained at Birmingham Conservatoire and Stockholm Opera studio. She performs around Europe for companies such as Opera Holland Park, Welsh National Opera, Royal Stockholm Opera, Gothenburg Opera and Festival di Cantiere in Tuscany.

Mikael is a tenor who lived in Britain for six years where he was in demand around the country as a concert, oratorio and opera singer; before moving back to Sweden to study at the Stockholm Opera studio. Mikael recently won Sweden's Wagner prize, marking him as an exciting new talent.

Both singers will be accompanied by pianist Jonathan Delbridge who has a busy career as a freelance soloist, accompanist and teacher. Jonathan has performed at venues throughout the UK including the Royal Albert Hall, York Minster and Norwich Cathedral. He runs a busy piano teaching business in Crewkerne called JD Music Services.

Advance tickets for this concert are £7 from Harrimans, 9 Silver Street or wegottickets.com. Tickets on the door are £8 but the event is free for 18s and under and full time students.
