TWO great musical events promises a wide range of musical styles and tastes - all under one roof.

First up is the Minehead and Exmoor Music Festival which, in its 53rd season, offers a week of concerts at The Regal Theatre in Minehead.

The orchestra, plays a pivotal role in the Minehead Music Festival and was originally founded by Tim Reynish in 1963. It has been running in its present form for thirty years under Artistic Director and Conductor Richard Dickins.

The players are drawn from all over the country but most come from the London area where many of them perform with well-established orchestras and chamber groups. They produce high standards of performance which our audiences have come to expect.

The programme includes favourites by Tchaikovsky, Elgar, Mozart and Gershwin.

The festival runs from Sunday, July 24 to Saturday, July 30.

*You can enjoy the best of Broadway melodies and all that jazz also at The Regal.

The theatre is celebrating thirty years of summer shows with an offering of songs from classics including Godspell, Annie, Cabaret, The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, West Side Story and many more.

In a wonderful display of the theatre’s motto - "For the community, by the community" - the show explores the vast number of terrific show-tunes which have been performed on the Regal stage.

With members from across the family of Regal drama clubs coming together in a joint venture, audiences will enjoy numbers from Godspell in 1986 to Sweeney Todd in 2015.

The huge cast ranges from the very young to octogenarians.

The show runs from Thursday, August 4 to Wednesday, August 10 with no Sunday performance and begins at 7.30pm.

Tickets for both the festival and the melodies shows are now on sale at the Regal Box Office (01643 706430), 10am – 3pm Monday – Friday, 10am – 1pm Saturday. Book on-line at www.regaltheatre.co.uk.
