FOUR folk acts will be lighting up Ilminster Arts Centre.
They will all come together for one night on May 12 under the umbrella of ‘Flying Folk’
The fantastic four will be Jemima Farey, who is a musician from Combe St. Nicholas. Jemima is a captivating performer whose unforced passion for music and story telling shines through in her music; Kitty Macfarlane is a Somerset-based singer songwriter who is currently an Associate Artist at the National Centre for Folk Arts at Halsway Manor.
Kitty’s songs are charged with a sense of place – more often than not her home of Somerset; Greg Hancock an established performer on the Exeter music scene whose multi-facted music defies genres, but fits comfortably within the folk tradition of storytelling and social commentary and Pete Aves who as far back as 2001 set out an eclectic agenda in his debut release ‘Fidelity’.
Tickets for Flying Folk coast £10. These can be bought online at themeetinghouse.org.uk or by calling the box office 01460 54973.
