THE feel good factor is coming to Ilminster Arts Centre.

This will be provided with a performance by the hugely popular Pete Allen Traditional Jazz Band on Friday, August 11 Pete Allen first appeared at the Arts Centre three years ago, and he returns in the company of his band, which is one of the bestknown ‘trad’ bands in the country.

One of Europe’s most talented and exciting exponents of the clarinet, Pete Allen first formed his band in October 1978 and during the early years made thirty appearances for “Pebble Mill At One” - BBC Television.

Since then it has made numerous appearances on television and radio as well as performing at prestigious jazz festivals and clubs throughout the UK and abroad.

They regularly have featured on Radio and over the years recorded many L.P’s, Cassettes and CD’s. Performing a varied exciting repertoire of ‘Hot’ Traditional Jazz the band is ideal for any occasion, especially Music Festivals, Concerts, Jazz Clubs.

Along the way the band has acquired legions of enthusiastic fans and among the countless wedding receptions and birthday parties at which the band has performed over the years can be included a number of functions for Sir Ian Botham.

Pete’s band play an exciting and entertaining musical selection of happy traditional jazz. It’s a sound that everyone can enjoy and understand being a combination of well played music with professional presentation perfect for any kind of event.

During the summer, the band is very popular performing at a number of outside jazz picnic events for the National Trust and English Heritage.
