IT’S going to be ‘Yesterday Once More’ as The Carpenters Story returns to Somerset.

This highly acclaimed concert-style production celebrates the music of one of the most successful pop duos in music history, Richard & Karen Carpenter.

First created back in 1986 by its founder Phil Aldridge, The Carpenters Story was one of the UK’s very first tribute-style shows of its kind.

Now over three decades later the show has stood the test of time, having entertained sell-out audiences throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

Acclaimed international star Claire Furley remains unsurpassed in her uncanny representation of Karen Carpenter.

Her outstanding vocal talents and pianist / artistic director Phil Aldridge take centrestage, accompanied by Richard Carpenter’s original orchestral arrangements from LIVE musicians, and a stage-wide backdrop of state-of-the-art video projection.

The Carpenters reached the peak of their career in the 1970s.

They hit the big time with their first two hits in 1970 of (They Long to Be) Close to You and We’ve Only Just Begun.

And from that moment, the brother and sister duo never looked back knocking out the hit songs up until 1982.

This musical show will feature all the Carpenters timeless classics, including Superstar, (They Long To Be) Close To You, We’ve Only Just Begun, Yesterday Once More, Top of the World, Please Mr Postman, Rainy Days and Mondays, and many more. All guaranteed for a great time.

The Carpenters Story appears at The Octagon Theatre on Friday, April 6 at 7.30pm.

Tickets for the show cost £24.50.

All tickets can be bought and booked through the Box Office at the Octagon on 01935 422884 or by going online at octagon-theatre.co.uk
