A lot of planning goes into a wedding but one thing you can’t account for is a rock star staying in the same hotel and dropping by to give an impromptu performance.
The Who front-man Roger Daltrey was staying at Mar Hall in Glasgow as the band are on their 50th anniversary tour. It also happened to be where Susan and Carl Smith were having their wedding.
The bride had spotted him earlier in the day and asked for a photo, but a few of her friends managed to persuade him to drop in on the reception. After giving a short speech the crowd asked him to sing and he didn’t disappoint.
Daltrey performed with the wedding band Milestone, who had to improvise The Who’s first single I Can’t Explain.
A guest at the wedding told The Daily Record: “Everyone in the room went mental when he appeared, it was epic.”
