Top stars James Corden, Daniel Radcliffe and Dame Judi Dench have taken part in a campaign video about the importance of the BBC.

The actors are joined by other big names including Sir Ian McKellen, Naomie Harris, David Oyelowo, Danny Boyle, Richard Curtis, and Steve Coogan in the short film called Don’t let the BBC become a memory.

The video was posted online by The Great BBC Campaign and features the stars talking about how they were influenced by the broadcaster.

James says he doesn’t think Gavin & Stacey would exist if it wasn’t for The Royle Family, and Daniel says his first job in television was for the BBC.

Dame Judi says: “I think we’re incredibly lucky to have the BBC. Long may it last.”

The film comes as the Government prepares to publish a White Paper about the future of the corporation.
