Jane Fonda may have been in the industry for more than 50 years, but she has revealed that she still has doubts over her acting ability.
The 77-year-old actress, who stars alongside Lily Tomlin in Netflix series Grace And Frankie, admitted she sometimes feels like a fraud.
“I’m terrified all the time. I live in constant fear,” she told TV Times.
“Every day I go to work I think today’s the day that I’m going to fail and they’ll know I’m a fraud and I’ll be fired.”
She added: “Most of the actors that I know feel the same way. The good ones. When you’re not nervous and scared any more, there’s something wrong.”
Jane took a 15-year break from acting in 1990, before making her big-screen comeback in Monster-In-Law alongside Jennifer Lopez.
“I need to support myself and there’s nothing like a steady job when you’re my age,” she explained.
“I left the business for 15 years because I was so unhappy and I can’t act when I’m unhappy. Then, during the 10 years I was with Ted Turner and the five years writing my memoirs, I changed and really became myself and thought I could find joy in acting again. And I have.”
