Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have announced they are calling time on their marriage after 13 years.
The 45-year-old Hollaback Girl singer and the 49-year-old British rocker have three sons, nine-year-old Kingston, six-year-old Zuma and 17-month-old Apollo.
The couple said in a statement: “While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment.
“To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time.”
Gwen filed divorce papers in California citing irreconcilable differences and Gavin filed his response at the same time. Both parties are seeking joint custody of their three boys.
The couple met in 1995 when Gwen’s band No Doubt toured with Gavin’s rock group Bush, and had been dogged by split rumours in recent years.
Gwen has recently spent time alone, getting back to nature in the Montana wilderness with her youngest son Apollo. The Don’t Speak singer shared pictures of the trip on Instagram and declared it her favourite vacation ever.
The singer only joined Instagram back in January.
