He may be known for his six pack, but that’s no ab training machine Peter Andre is hooked up to…

The reality TV star and singer is expecting a baby with his wife Emily MacDonagh – their second together – and has agreed to take sympathy pains to a whole new level by using a birth simulation machine.

Viewers of daytime show Loose Women will be able to see how Peter, 43, gets on at Amsterdam clinic The Birth Hotel, where he has checked in to get a taste of exactly what Emily, 27, will be going through by experiencing the pain of labour.

He’ll have electrodes stuck to his stomach, with an electrical current passing through them to recreate the feeling of contractions.

Dad-of-three Peter, who has two children from his previous marriage to Katie Price, said: “I’m going to give it my best shot to go through a simulation of labour – call it a labour of love – to be a better birth partner to my beautiful wife Emily who is due to give birth very soon.

“I’m not going to lie, I’m really freaking out about the pain, I should have thought this through, but I’m going to try my hardest.”

Peter’s contractions will begin at stage one – but will he make it all the way through to stage three, the point at which a labouring woman would be the full 10cm dilated?

See the results of Peter’s experiment on Loose Women tomorrow at 12.30pm on ITV.
